Wish Me Luck

Posted on 9/8/2009 at 12:15:26 AM

I just ordered a Borah pair from eyebuydirect.com, hopefully everything goes through nicely. Right before I ordered them, the spring mechanism from my old glasses popped out or something out of jealousy or relief, we’ll never know.

I also had trouble with the free shipping coupon code. Hm. Hopefully they’ll fix it up for me.

Happy Labor Day!

If you don’t know the origin of Labor Day, you can check out a short article that was buzzed on Yahoo:  Labor Day Origins
…or not, I’m not trying to cramp your Labor Day relaxation. Sit back and have some chips and lemonade.

I think I’m in the clear on the health side, I hope I’m not jinxing it my temperature seems to be normal but I still feel a little jealous of Rip Van Winkle; I’ll just take a nap later.

Yesterday I was watching some vids on academicearth.com and that Walter Lewin is quite the character. It almost makes me want to attend MIT physics just so I can pick his brain.

I like how he goes through obvious things and gets you passionate about it even if you weren’t fascinated with it beforehand, just by the attitude he approaches things with. It’s like watching a kid in a candy store and you’re thinking “Well…500 calories ain’t too bad…”

I’d most likely flunk though because about 5 mins to the end of the video, my mind started analyzing his shirt sleeves and how they’re wider at the pit than most and admiring how smart that is because you won’t get sweat stains on them. Then to my years in school and teachers with said sweat stains, then to that one teacher that was the school heartthrob but wasn’t my type of hottie and why were girls acting so stupid those days? Must have been hormones- …before I knew it, the video ended and I had missed most of the important stuff. Darn my wandering mind!

I did finish watching Coraline today though. The concepts in it may be mind boggling but my mind didn’t race off like yesterday. No such luck for the math video I barely watched halfway, hopefully my studying for the SAT won’t be this problematic.
I’m so…so-so-so terrible at math, my mind freezes up when I see equations. I can barely read a ruler. It’s that bad.

Things I’m looking forward to: Festival days, new glasses, publishing an art book, donating blood.

The Works

What’s going on with me lately besides being feverish(which is hopefully gone now) and feeling tired? I have a boatload of WIPs (Work In Progress)  and I’m looking for new glasses.

Glasses are about 100-300 a pop and I definitely don’t have insurance to cover that sooo…I searched online. Of course there were some dubious businesses *cough*zennioptical*cough* but I think I’ve found a legit place: eyebuydirect.com

I’m trying on tons of frames digitally and measuring everything. I really like how you get the case, cleaning cloth, standard lenses and scratch resistance for free. Extras are cheap too, I’m thinking of getting Anti-Reflective for 7 bucks more and shipping is about 5 bucks. I’ll give you an update on them when I finally decide on a pair and receive them.

I can finally stop wearing these glasses that I believe I got either at the end of junior high(6-7th grade) or early high school(8th grade). I won’t get rid of them because they’re good, reliable backup, no matter the torture to my nose.

Anyway! Not like anyone cares about my eyewear, right? Here are some of the stuff I’m working on save for one image artweaver corrupted as I was finishing. *shakes fist*

Hey Again

Posted on 9/3/2009 at 4:59:43 PM

Decided to start anew with wordpress and at first, I was cracking my head trying to figure out how to make my design but they have some shnazzy themes out there. This might be temporary, might not, but I’m definitely not making a design right now. I’m running fevers like it’s nobody’s business.

I’ll update this soon enough with stuff I’ve been working on and old pages like the 101 list~ Check back when this place isn’t so skeletal.
