Oops
Well I sort of forgot my wordpress password…BUT I’M BACK! 8D
I haven’t been uploading drawings at all(not even on DA) because I’m so stressed out over portfolio drawings and college applications. I’m a first generation college goer and applying at the same time as my eldest niece(unintentionally) so it’s kind of a mess. I’ve always wanted to go to an art college but thought I’d better hone my skills first, then it got to the point where I figured I should just go on my own with freelancing since I’m too ‘old’ (just turned 22 on the 21st but I’m an old soul). Now I’m really looking forward to it and I feel I can do this now. I just wasn’t ready before.
15-20 portfolio pieces and I have one down! Lol. I’ll be using some of my digital work to balance it out as my foray into traditional work is lacking. Although, it is better than I thought it would be. I had visions of pre-school finger art I made but I impressed myself, really.
So…these days have been pretty much like this:
Get up, do the game job, look through my 10+ daily e-mails about sweepstakes, enter new ones, search(using swagbucks) college info, drawing tutorial/tips, figure out what to draw, study for the SAT(math sucks) online, study for the SAT by books, spend a few minutes to wrap my head around all this, freak out when I can’t, search for near art classes in vain, look at application requirements and stress out, take a shower where I keep freaking out and stressing, go to bed. I take time to eat somewhere in between those.
The End.
Swagbucks
I signed up for Swagbucks because it seems like a great way to earn prizes for something I do anyway. I search more than 20 times a day so…yeah. :B
They have cool prizes and even gift cards or cash when you redeem your bucks.
Not much sketches only sketchy writings right now, I’ll fix that soon.
Happy Labor Day!
If you don’t know the origin of Labor Day, you can check out a short article that was buzzed on Yahoo: Labor Day Origins
…or not, I’m not trying to cramp your Labor Day relaxation. Sit back and have some chips and lemonade.
I think I’m in the clear on the health side, I hope I’m not jinxing it my temperature seems to be normal but I still feel a little jealous of Rip Van Winkle; I’ll just take a nap later.
Yesterday I was watching some vids on academicearth.com and that Walter Lewin is quite the character. It almost makes me want to attend MIT physics just so I can pick his brain.
I like how he goes through obvious things and gets you passionate about it even if you weren’t fascinated with it beforehand, just by the attitude he approaches things with. It’s like watching a kid in a candy store and you’re thinking “Well…500 calories ain’t too bad…”
I’d most likely flunk though because about 5 mins to the end of the video, my mind started analyzing his shirt sleeves and how they’re wider at the pit than most and admiring how smart that is because you won’t get sweat stains on them. Then to my years in school and teachers with said sweat stains, then to that one teacher that was the school heartthrob but wasn’t my type of hottie and why were girls acting so stupid those days? Must have been hormones- …before I knew it, the video ended and I had missed most of the important stuff. Darn my wandering mind!
I did finish watching Coraline today though. The concepts in it may be mind boggling but my mind didn’t race off like yesterday. No such luck for the math video I barely watched halfway, hopefully my studying for the SAT won’t be this problematic.
I’m so…so-so-so terrible at math, my mind freezes up when I see equations. I can barely read a ruler. It’s that bad.
Things I’m looking forward to: Festival days, new glasses, publishing an art book, donating blood.
